A biopic on Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja was officially launched yesterday. He is one of the most influential musicians in Indian cinema history. The maestro’s biopic titled ‘Ilaiyaraaja’ will feature Dhanush in the titular role with Arun Matheswaran directing the project. The film’s first-look poster was unveiled by Ilaiyaraaja and Kamal Haasan yesterday.
Exciting news has emerged that Kamal Haasan will be penning the screenplay for Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic. An online report suggests that Ulaganayagan officially announced this at the event. We have to wait for an official confirmation. Ilaiyaraaja will be composing music for this film. This movie is a joint production of Connekkt Media, PK Prime Production and Mercuri Group. This is one of the biggest films in Tamil cinema.
The technical team comprises Nirav Shah as the DOP and Muthuraj as the art director. The shooting for this much-awaited project commences by the end of this year. ‘Ilaiyaraaja’ will hit the silver screens next year. At the launch event, Dhanush in his speech said that he always wanted to act in the biopics of Ilaiyaraaja and Superstar Rajinikanth and he is extremely happy that one of them is happening.
