More than two months have passed in the New Year but Tamil films are yet to make a solid impact at the box office. So far, Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Ayalaan’ and Dhanush’s ‘Captain Miller’ have had a decent theatrical run. We all know that new Malayalam films are enjoying a great run in Tamil Nadu out of nowhere.
We already broke to you that the recent sensation, ‘Manjummel Boys’, became the fastest 100 crore grosser in Malayalam cinema (12 days). Now, the latest news is that this movie has collected more than 150 crores worldwide while surpassing the Tamil Nadu gross of ‘Captain Miller’. It will soon surpass the ‘Ayalaan’ Tamil Nadu collection and become the highest-grosser in the state this year.
On the other hand, the Naslen and Mamitha Baiju starrer ‘Premalu’ has collected more than 100 crores across the globe. The film was dubbed and released in Telugu last Friday. We hear that a Tamil dubbed version of ‘Premalu’ is coming to cinemas on March 15. The cute rom-com shows no signs of slowing down despite the ‘Manjummel Boys’ storm.
