Chiyaan Vikram one of the highest rated actors in the country got the chance to prove his talent with Bala’s ‘Sethu’ released in 1999. However the film that catapulted him into the big league was ‘Gemini’ directed by Saran and produced by AVM Productions which released on 12th April 2002.
Vikram played the role of a good hearted rowdy in ‘Gemini’ and his trademark mannerism along with the line ‘Oh Podu’ became rage at that time. Today celebrating the 21st anniversary of the blockbuster hit, Vikram took to Twitter to share a video of himself recreating the iconic moment.
‘Gemini’ had music by Bharadwaj and starred Vikram, Kiran Rathod, Kalabhavan Mani, Manorama, Murali, Charle, Dhamu, Vaiyapuri, Rani and the legendary Gemini Ganesan as himself.
Vikram is currently acting in ‘Thangalaan’ directed by Pa. Ranjith with music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. The epic film set in the 18th century KGF is produced on a grand scale by Studio Green and stars Vikram, Pasupathi, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan. His next release is ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ directed by Mani Ratnam hitting screens worldwide on April 28th.
